Chelsea are keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz, according to reports. The German international has been identified as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho.
With Manchester United favourites for the Borussia Dortmund star, the Blues have been considering other targets and it appears they have landed on Havertz.
Fans on Twitter would love to see Havertz at Chelsea, although some are sceptical whether it will happen:
Don’t bottle this @ChelseaFC

I am not surprised. He can play as a #10, can play as a winger and as a CF. Ticks all the boxes.

There’s no way Chelsea are going to spend €100 million on a player this transfer window.

There are multiple claims from Germany that the 20-year-old won’t be let go for anything less than €100m (£90m); an astronomical figure considering the current financial climate.
With Sancho likely to be sold for in or around the same price, switching targets could be a sensible decision, although it must be pointed out that Havertz also has a number of other top European clubs pursuing him.
Liverpool, Manchester City and United are said to be watching the German as well, although it appears that all three teams do have other priorities in the transfer market.
