Di Marzio Confirms Chelsea Have Made ‘Contact’ With 34.6M Rated Senegalese Star’s Agent

Chelsea have been in “contact” with the agent of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Italian journalist reports that the Blues are considering Koulibaly as a potential transfer target due to the fact that “his price will be lower” than the likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Milan Skriniar:

It has been claimed that Koulibaly’s asking price would be around €40m (£34.6m), with the Senegalese international now within the last twelve months of his contract. In contrast, Juventus are thought to be demanding as much as €100m (£86.5m) for de Ligt, while Skriniar’s valuation is thought to be closer to €80m (£69.2m).

At the moment, it isn’t clear which centre-back is the number one priority for chairman Todd Boehly and manager Thomas Tuchel. There are also reports in Spain that Chelsea may revive their interest in Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, while Manchester City’s Nathan Ake is another option that is seriously being considered.
