‘Deserves A Run In The Team’ – Chelsea Fans Keen To See Forgotten Conte Signing Given Opportunity To Shine

Marcos Alonso did not perform particularly well in the 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday and was substituted with 12 minutes to go with Davide Zappacosta taking his place.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference today, manager Maurizio Sarri revealed that the Spaniard has been suffering with a back injury and was not fully fit.

Fans on Twitter believe that Emerson Palmieri should be given a chance to impress instead:

The Italian was signed by previous coach Antonio Conte in last season’s January transfer window but has barely featured for the Blues.

He has impressed during the six matches he has played in cup competitions so far this campaign, and it seems many believe it is now the time to rotate the squad tomorrow night when Chelsea face Wolves.

Emerson has made just 13 appearances since his £18m from Roma, but the 24-year-old has certainly put a case forward to be picked ahead of Alonso at Molineux.
