After several rumors came out about Torres and Eto’o’s summer departures, it seems time has come for Demba Ba to join his fellow strikers. The 28 year old, who has only had the chance to make 11 appearances since January 2013 when he moved to London, is no longer keen on staying with the Blues. According to the Daily Mail, Italy could be his next destination. After Torres turned down Inter, Ba might get a chance to join the Italian side.

Despite being third in line when it comes Mourinho’s starting eleven, the Senegalese is still a great striker. During 2011-2013 while playing for Newcastle he was one of the best scorers in the Premier League. Since his Chelsea move, his form has dropped considerably mostly because his lack of time spent on the pitch.

Demba Ba is under contract with the Blues for two more years. Even so, he is very disappointed with his current status and has expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. The striker is valued at £9 million which should not be a problem even if no one has seen him perform more than two games in a row.

With Eto’o’s contract set to expire in a few months and with Torres apparently set on leaving, things could become complicated for Demba Ba. Mourinho could need him as a back-up for whichever star striker Chelsea plan on signing in the summer.
