De Bruyne Transfer Just A Matter Of Time

Kevin De Bruyne has failed to make his mark at Chelsea since his switch from Racing Genk on Transfer Deadline Day back in January 2011. Following his arrival at Stamford Bridge, he was immediately loaned back to his former club till the end of the season.

He returned in the summer, but once again found himself surplus to requirements. As a result, he once again went out on loan, this time to German outfit Werder Bremen for the entirety of the 2012-13 season. He had a highly successful stint in the Bundesliga. So much so, that rival German clubs sat up and took notice of the play maker.

He is currently being heavily courted by Wolfsburg, who are interested in luring him back to Germany, but this time on a permanent transfer. Chelsea are well stocked in the midfield department and would have no qualms in offloading the Belgian. Wolfsburg have reportedly been in serious contact with the London club, trying to negotiate a transfer fee over the last few days.

The talks have reached an advanced stage, and the transfer announcement is just a matter of time now, claims Wolfsburg’s director of sport, Klaus Allofs. “It’s not that we can confirm the deal just yet, but we are no longer so far apart with Chelsea that we can’t bridge the differences,” he said while speaking to the press, report the Independent.

The 22-year old is touted as a very bright future talent. Do you think that Chelsea will regret making this sale in the coming few years?
