De Bruyne Set To Move To The Bundesliga

One of Chelsea’s most promising youngsters may leave during the winter transfer period. Kevin De Bruyne has had a tough time making it in English football not just because of the tough competition he faces for a spot in Mourinho’s team but also because of his poor attitude in training. According to Chelsea’s boss, the 22 year old Belgium international will not be part of his long term plans if he continues behaving inappropriately. De Bruyne returned to Chelsea after spending the 2012-2013 season on loan with Werder Bremen. He managed a great series of 32 appearances in which he scored 10 goals.

Chelsea’s player is also a national team regular, being drafted by Belgium managers since 2010. He is currently counting 16 appearances in which he scored 3 goals. According to Metro, De Bruyne is ready to return to Germany. Wolfsburg expressed their interest for the young international and may make a move during the winter transfer period. The transfer is more than possible, considering Mourinho’s opinion regarding his 22 year player.

Wolfsburg’s manager, Klaus Allofs publicly stated that the young Belgian international is their main target. There could be a small problem though when it comes to signing the papers. De Bruyne is valued at about £12 million but the German side are willing to pay only half of that. If this is the case, then Chelsea might consider a loan, leaving out a definitive transfer.

Borussia Dortmund and Werder have also been linked to the young Belgian international who has had few chances of proving himself since coming to London. De Bruyne is under contract with the Blues until the summer of 2017 and things don’t look that good. He is best fitted playing as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. Both those positions are currently dominated by footballers like Oscar, Scurrle, Mata or Hazard leaving little space for the 22 year old to express himself. Recent stories suggest De Bruyne is doing all he can to win over Mourinho and stay at Chelsea but it may be too late for that.

Wolfsburg will probably manage to get De Bruyne on loan for the second half of the season leaving transfer talks open for the 2014-2015 season.
