De Bruyne Hoping To Make It To Brazil

Kevin De Bruyne is being targeted by several European teams as the Belgian player is more than likely to leave Stamford Bridge. The 22 year old who is apparently no longer part of Mourinho’s plans mostly because of his poor attitude during training and during the few games he has featured in. Add to that the fact that Belgium’s manager, Mark Wilmots just made a public statement in which he urges players who want to play in the World Cup to find a way to become team regulars and you can understand why De Bruyne is as good as gone in January.

According to the Daily Mail, the Belgium international is probably going to leave for Spain during the winter transfer window. Atletico who already have one of Chelsea’s players on loan, are considering making a move on De Bruyne. The young midfielder has no chance of replacing any of the Blues’ current team regulars but will surely have a great chance of becoming part of Atletico’s starting lineup.

Chelsea’s player moved from Genk to Stamford Bridge two years ago. He cost the club £6.7million and was seen as the perfect playmaker to help Torres and the other strikers increase their scoring rate. Unfortunately for De Bruyne, Oscar exploded during the past two seasons, making it impossible for the Belgian to become a team regular. Since the 2013-2014 season began, the 22 year old has only been used for 5 minutes during the Premier League fixtures.

The pressure is definitely on for De Bruyne with the transfer period just around the corner. Even if he recently said his transfer is only going to go through if the club decides so, he is surely thinking of a move that will keep Wilmots interested in his services.

De Bruyne was also linked to German sides Schalke and Wolfsburg. The Belgian will have a greater chance to perform on a regular basis while playing in the Bundesliga considering the fact that he was on loan with Werder the entire 2012-2013 season in which he made 32 appearances and scored 10 goals for his team.
