Craig Burley Slams Chelsea Star Who “Should Not Even Be Allowed To The Training Ground” After “Embarrassing” Display

Aubameyang

Former Chelsea player Craig Burley has ripped into Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after his performance against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

The 33-year-old barely touched the ball in the first half and was hauled off at the interval by manager Frank Lampard. Burley says the forward doesn’t deserve to play for the club again:

“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should not wear a Chelsea shirt again, he should not even be allowed to the training ground. It wasn’t [about a lack of] service – he walked around for 45 minutes. It’s embarrassing. Quite frankly, if I’m on the bench and I’m not playing because of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, what is that telling me? I’m thinking about a different sport. He doesn’t care, he’s a liability. It’s embarrassing.”

It was a truly shocking display from Aubameyang and it does look as though he will be one of the first names out of the door this summer.

In the build-up to the Gunners match, Lampard talked up the need for having an out-and-out number nine on the pitch but it was telling that he only needed 45 minutes to make up his mind about Aubameyang.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona, the Gabonese international has barely made an impression. You do have to remember that the reason he joined the Blues was because of Thomas Tuchel, but the German was sacked days after his transfer was finalised. Even so, his performances have left a lot to be desired.
