Courtois To Return With Ultimatum For Chelsea

Courtois seems to have had enough when it comes to his future with Chelsea. He told the London club that his return depends on Cech’s future with the Blues. The Belgian insists he will not return as long as Cech is still playing as the number one goalkeeper. According to Metro, Courtois does not see himself battling it out with the Czech international for a spot in Mourinho’s first eleven. After spending three seasons with Atletico as a first choice, it is no wonder the youngster is no longer interested in being a substitute.

Courtois has been going back and forth with Chelsea even since Mourinho’s arrival. The Portuguese manager would like Cech to fight for his spot on the team with Courtois who is now one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Chelsea’s current goalkeeper is 32 and still has a lot to bring to the table. It is going to be a tough decision for the club who might lose Courtois if a choice is not made. The Blues should be trying to get on Courtois’s good side as the Belgian has just 2 years left of contract. Failing to close a deal right now would mean losing both a talented player and also a lot of money. The 22 year old is valued at three times as much as he cost Chelsea when signing him from Genk. Things will probably get settled after the Belgian ends his loan with Atletico which is due after the Champions League final.
