Courtois To Announce Future Decision

Courtois To Announce Future Decision

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told the media that he will announce the decision on his future soon, after being quizzed about reports of another loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea are looking to strengthen their attacking options for next season, and reportedly have Diego Costa on top of their wish list for the transfer window. Jose Mourinho has been seemingly frustrated with the fact that the squad depend too much on Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto’o to get the goals and win the game. In their fixture against Crystal Palace at the weekend, the Blues were beaten courtesy of an own goal by John Terry, but the side could not conjure a goal in the final third. Even though Fernando Torres has recovered from his injury, he has yet not been able to find form again.

Courtois has reached a level of goalkeeping where he can demand first team football at the best clubs in Europe, and if Chelsea decide to stay with Petr Cech in goal, chances are they will lose Courtois. Chelsea would ideally work out a deal where they pay Atletico a transfer sum for Costa, and in return, the Spanish outfit get the Belgian keeper’s services for another year.
