Courtois Still Uncertain With What The Future Holds

Courtois is definitely one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. The 21 year old and his cat-like reflexes, which are somewhat surprising considering his 6ft 6inch frame, has been a decisive element in Atletico’s impressive performances. The Spanish side has surpassed Barca and Real and are now first in La Liga. This hasn’t happened in quite some time, and it is safe to say, the Belgium international has had a lot to do with what is happening right now.

The Belgium international has made no appearances for the Blues since 2011. He was immediately sent on loan and has continued playing for Atletico since then. He has started 95 times, during which he became one of the most consistent players on the pitch.

Unfortunately for Courtois, competition for a spot in Mourinho’s first eleven is fierce. Cech looks better each game and has really gained back his confidence which looked a bit lost after his head injury.

According to ESPN Courtois is still waiting to see what becomes of Cech who despite not being the youngest player Chelsea has on their payroll, still has a lot to give. The Belgium international is well aware of the Blues’ number one and hopes a definite transfer will come his way. Rumors of a definite move to Madrid emerged during the summer but nothing has happened. The 21 year old was even linked to Barcelona but that ship has sailed considering the Catalans have apparently reached an agreement with Ter Stegen.
