Mourinho looks to have made the right choice by choosing Courtois over Cech. There was much debate regarding the changes made this season. Up until now all the things the Special One did seem to have been spot on. Bringing Costa and Fabregas had a massive impact on the Blues’ game. Making Courtois the first choice for the starting eleven was also the right thing to do as the Belgian goalkeeper proved up for the challenge. Despite being very young for a stopper, the former Atletico man proved to be more secure and more focused than players with many more years of experience. He also proved to be fully dedicated to the club who had a tough decision to make.

According to the Daily Mail, Courtois is so focused and so professional that he even managed to leave his personal problems at home despite having a lot to deal with at such a young age. The Belgian international played like nothing was wrong during his last two games even if his father was rushed to the hospital due to a complicated brain condition.

Not many would have behaved the way Courtois behaved and not many would have shown such dedication towards the club. Even if his father is expected to be fully recovered, it was still a hard period for the 22 year old who proved once again why a keeper as great as Cech was sidelined. Hopefully for him, all his personal issues will be solved and his form will keep improving with the years.
