Courtois Looking For Closure

Courtois Looking For Closure

According to ESPN, Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois is determined to negotiate his future with the Blues at the end of this season. The 21 year old who is one of the best stoppers in European football, has been on loan with Atletico Madrid for three years now and is seriously considering making his Spain experience a permanent one.

It is very unlikely that Courtois will return to Stamford Bridge to shadow Chech for the years to follow. The Belgian international has already made a name for himself and sitting on the bench is not an option.

The only thing that could stop Courtois’ transfer is his £26 million price tag which is a bit much for a team like Atletico. Despite being a world class goalkeeper, it is hard to believe the Spanish side will be willing to spend that much on a keeper.

The youngster insisted though a decision will be made during the next few weeks. He recently spoke about his chances of returning to Stamford Bridge and hinted towards the fact that he might be keen on staying in Spain. Courtois has also been linked to Barcelona who are definitely interested in bringing in a replacement for Valdes who is certain of departure. One thing is for sure: the 21 year old is a lot closer to the Primera than to the Premier League.
