Costa Reveals Impeccable Career Choices

Chelsea could have had to face one of their own on a regular basis if not for Atletico’s amazing 2013-2014 season. According to the Daily Mail, Diego Costa was close to becoming a Liverpool man back in 2013 when the Merseyside club tried triggering the Brazilian’s buy-out clause. Apparently the Blues’ current top scorer refused to leave Atletico and insisted he still needs to grow before moving to the Premier League. It is not often you see such great choices being made by footballers.

Costa seems different though and also confident which is probably why he is doing so well at Stamford Bridge. There was no guarantee that he will have the season he had. He ended the year with an amazing 27 goals scored and impressed Mourinho to such extent that he convinced the club to pay £32million for the 26 year old.

Chelsea’s offer was not only financially appealing but also career changing for Costa. He came to London knowing that he will be a team regular given he was the highest rated strikers among the three playing for the Blues. It appears that the choices made regarding his career have been impeccable up to now. He joined Atletico’s history for winning the Spanish title after almost a decade and has almost doubled in at Stamford Bridge. Currently under contract with Chelsea until 2019, the Brazilian born Spanish international is expected to get better and better with each season.
