Costa Not Selected For Spain Squad!

Blues frontman Diego Costa has a dodgy hamstring and Mourinho has previously revealed that the striker hardly trains in order to prevent aggravation. However, Brazilian-born Costa was selected for del Bosque’s last Spain squad and subsequently arrived injured after playing 180 minutes for La Roja.

Mourinho was furious with the Spain medical team and put the blame entirely on them for Costa’s injury. The 26-year-old has recently returned from injury and it seems Mourinho’s comments have made the difference as del Bosque has left Costa out of his latest squad citing injury concerns.

According to The Guardian, del Bosque said, “I have spoken to our doctors and those of Chelsea and I have decided to leave him out due to the situation with his pubis (pelvis). He may be able to play Chelsea’s next game against Liverpool but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some type of injury problem.”

Del Bosque added, “We have reached a decision with Chelsea’s medical staff that we will take a break due to his groin issues. It has nothing to do with whether he later plays for his club. He always wants to come with us, but we have spoken and this is the best for his health.”
