Conte’s Chelsea observations spot-on as Blues edge closer to glory

Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough last night put the Blues within touching distance of Premier League success, as Antonio Conte’s side require just one win from their remaining fixtures to lift the trophy this month.

The Blues can secure glory on Friday night by defeating West Brom but they have room to slip-up, with Chelsea in the driving seat for glory ahead of clashes with Watford and already-relegated Sunderland following their clash with the Baggies.

Following a slow start to the Premier League season, Antonio Conte has turned things around as Chelsea have excelled with a three-man defence this season and have stood in the driving seat for Premier League glory for the majority of the campaign.

Speaking after last night’s victory over Middlesbrough, which relegated the Teesside outfit, Conte stated his side deserved the glory that’s about to come their way.

“This is my first season in England in a tough championship. I’m delighted for my players, they deserve this. We are showing that we deserve to win the league.”

“Now, we have taken another step to the title. We have to rest well and prepare for West Brom. We must try in the next game to become champions. West Brom will want to play a good game against us, but we are ready.”

Chelsea have looked pretty unstoppable this season, despite a blip in recent months that gave Tottenham slip hopes of pipping the Blues to the Premier League, and Conte’s first season in England could end with a double as the West London giants tackle Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Success for the Stamford Bridge outfit is made all the more impressive by the fact that Chelsea’s squad depth is rather thin, with the ranks outside of the 18-man match-day squad being particularly limited- leaving little room for failure.

However those 18 players, which include the peripheral figure of Cesc Fabregas who has been brilliant when given an opportunity, have erased any fears that a small contingent of players are unable to remain consistent for the entire season.

Chelsea have managed to be the most consistent team in England’s top tier and after getting through the early part of the season have navigated their way through the remainder of the campaign without suffering anything remotely close to a spell of prolonged poor form.

With both Spurs and Chelsea having only 9 points left to play for in the season, 1 more win by Chelsea or 1 loss by Spurs means the Blues from West London will be confirmed as champions. If you want to bet on any of the remaining games this season then why not use this great sign up bonus when you make your wager.

For the sustained good form without any real spells of poor form, credit certainly has to go to Conte who has rallied behind a side who were woeful last season, with the Italian once again getting the best out of the likes of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.

His summer signings have also been excellent, with N’Golo Kante standing as Premier League Player of the Year whilst David Luiz and Marcos Alonso have significantly boosted the defensive line, especially since the switch to a three-man defence.

Conte faces a test this summer to keep the core of his squad intact and bolster his ranks for the return to Champions League football next year but the Italian has given fans nothing to worry about, as all the signs point towards further success next season.
