In what could be one of the more surprising transfers of the summer, Chelsea are ready to secure the services of 24-year-old Gunner and England international, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The versatile winger who was used by Wenger as a utility man it appeared, seems tempted by the fact that he can finally get a stable position within his next team.

At first glance, he has a very similar profile to that of Victor Moses even though, unlike the Nigerian, has rarely had the chance to play in a 3-5-2 formation. He might be a bit more offensive which might be a problem.

On the other hand, his speed and power will help compensate for his constant runs up front. According to the Mirror, Conte has handed Arsenal Chelsea’s last bid for the England international.  

If rumors are true, the Blues are about to pay around £35m for Oxlade-Chamberlain who already had a talk with the Gunners and informed them he will not be extending his contract. Even if he still has a year left at the Emirates, it is hard to believe Arsenal will choose to turn down a more than decent amount of money just to mess with the youngster.

There’s little time until the 31st of August when the transfer window closes. Oxlade-Chamberlain seems to be on Liverpool’s radar as well but regardless, his future destination looks to be Stamford Bridge. Not sure if Conte could find a better fit for his current formation. Not in the Premier League at least.

The Italian boss needs a speedy winger/wingback to compete with and push the likes of Moses. The Gunner can offer that and much more especially considering he is only 24. He has experience, he is motivated to play constantly and as previously mentioned, he is eager to find his place in a team that is fighting for the biggest trophies out there and he has loads of Champions League and Premier League experience.
