Conte fires shots at Mourinho

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has hit out at his Manchester United counterpart Jose Mourinho, saying he needs to ‘look at himself’ and not other teams.

Mourinho hit out at opposing managers in a recent interview, saying he does not ‘cry’ about injuries like his rivals. But the comments seemed as if they were mainly aimed towards his replacement at Chelsea Antonio Conte, after the Italian hit out at his sides injuries this season and that the club were in an emergency.

Conte has hit out at Jose’s comments, suggesting to the Portuguese that he should worry about his own team rather than his rivals’.

“A lot of time Mourinho has to see what happens at Chelsea,” Conte said.

“A lot of time, also last season, I think he has to think about his team and stop, to look at himself, not the others.”

It is fair to say that Chelsea do have a slight crisis on their hands, particularly in midfield where N’Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater, Bakayoko and make shift midfielder David Luiz are all out. And Conte says he must now get the best out of his team in order to cope with the unfortunate situation.

“The same players have been going all the time since pre-season,” Conte said. “It’s not about injuries, but trying to get the best out of the team.”

“We’ve got three injuries, not seven or eight, but it’s still an emergency situation for us.”

Chelsea’s midfield crisis could have easily been avoided though, had they not allowed both Nemanja Matic and Nathaniel Chalobah to leave the club in the summer – as well as sending host of players out on loan.
