Conte ‘different’ to past Chelsea managers

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says he is not feeling the pressure at the club despite some poor displays in recent games, and insists he is ‘different’ to previous managers of the Blues who faced the sack.

Stamford Bridge has seen many managers walk in and out the door since owner Roman Abramovich has been around, and recent rumours indicate that Conte could be next in the Premier League managerial firing line.

Despite winning the Premier League in his first season at Chelsea, and topping their Champions League group so far, their league form has suffered a little – and many believe that the cracks are beginning to show under Conte’s reign.

However, the Italian has once again insisted he is calm over his position at the club.

“I am not like the previous managers. I am different. I am different,” he said after the Blues’ win against Watford.

“It is important to understand this. The club has to judge the work and, honestly, I don’t have this type of worry – if I lose the game, if the club decides to sack me.”

“In the past, the club decided after two losses or three bad games to sack a manager. I don’t think it is the same for every manager.”

“You change the person, change the work. I repeat. If you ask if I feel this type of pressure about the club, it is zero.”
