5 Things Enzo Maresca Needs To Change To Get Chelsea’s Season Back On Track

A week is a long time in football, and Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has had a bad 5 days, to say the least.

Defeats to Bayern Munich and Manchester United have left the Blues with problems to solve.

Read below as we assess what Maresca needs to do in order to get his team back to winning games on a consistent basis.

1) Stick with the same back four

There is no doubt that Levi Colwill’s season-ending injury has thrown a spanner in the works.

Since then, Maresca has tried more than one combination in the centre of defence, with the latest being Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah.

He had picked Fofana at right-back against Brentford before substituting him at halftime. That decision made no sense when he had Malo Gusto and Reece James available.

At the moment, the only player who is guaranteed a start in the back four is Marc Cucurella. Maresca needs to settle on his first-choice options in the other three positions as soon as possible.
