Chelsea’s Suffer Setback In Contract Negotiations With Abraham As Key Obstacle Emerges

Chelsea’s negotiations with Tammy Abraham over a new contract have stalled, according to reports in the English media. The striker’s agent is demanding parity with Callum Hudson-Odoi, which the Blues have so far refused to agree to.

Hudson-Odoi signed a £180,000 a week deal back in September, but he is only able to earn that much based on performances, while Abraham is looking for a matching wage.

Currently, the 22-year-old has two and a half years left on his contract which means Chelsea are not under the same pressure as they were with Hudson-Odoi to give in to demands.

Still, Abraham has been a key player for Frank Lampard, having scored 14 goals in 27 appearances this season, and the club will be very keen to tie him down for the long term.

The forward is now the club’s first-choice striker, and with another crucial goal against Arsenal yesterday, many fans will feel he justifies a big pay rise.
