Chelsea’s Latest Injury News Ahead Of The Europa League Final Against Arsenal

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is sweating over the fitness of N’Golo Kante ahead of the Europa League final tonight.

The Frenchman had been on course to start against Arsenal after recovering from a hamstring problem, but after sustaining a knee injury in training, the midfielder is now only 50/50 to play this evening.

Sarri also has a number of other fitness concerns. Ethan Ampadu (back) is still making his comeback so won’t be able to cover for Kante in midfield, while Danny Drinkwater is out of favour.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi won’t return until next season due to Achilles injuries, and Antonio Rudiger is still out of contention with a knee problem.

Captain Gary Cahill was in the squad that flew out to Baku, so will provide cover for first-choice centre-back pairing Andreas Christensen and David Luiz.

The only other player on the sidelines is Marco van Ginkel, who hasn’t featured all season as he continues a long recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
