Chelsea’s Inconsistent Form Pointing Towards A Busy Winter Transfer Period

Mourinho’s team has not yet turned out as well as fans expected as Chelsea are struggling to consistently find their form and the Blues’ boss has a hard time settling on a definitive starting line-up. After some poor performances in the Champions League group stages it is more than likely Abramovich will go on a winter shopping spree.

Chelsea’s list has grown especially after their defeats against Stoke and Basel. They clearly need a striker and some fresh defenders to keep up with the rest of the team. According to recent rumors Rooney may be targeted again after their first failed bids. The English international is one of Mourinho’s favorites but it is hard to believe he will leave Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge.

Southampton’s left back looks like another possible target for the Blues. Luke Shaw may be the perfect replacement for Ashley Cole who is uncertain of his future with Chelsea. Shaw is valued at £20m which sounds pretty reasonable.

Falcao’s transfer was probably the most expected move of the year. Even though the Colombian decided to choose Monaco, it seems there is still a chance he could end up at Stamford Bridge. With Mourinho desperate to find a star striker, Falcao could be the perfect solution despite the £85m asking price.

Inter’s Fredy Guarin has also been linked to Chelsea but it is hard to believe the Blues will bring another midfielder.  The same goes for Julian Brandt who plays the same position as Mata, Hazard and Schurrle.

The last name to make Chelsea’s wish-list is Julian Draxler. It appears he could be part of a more complex deal which might include De Bruyne who has slipped down the pecking order for Mourinho’s line-up. The Belgian is not the only player packing his bags. It seems Demba Ba is also ready to leave Stamford Bridge after being used mostly as a substitute for Torres and Eto’o.

If Chelsea want to win the Premier League and the Champions League, you would think that they must make an effort to land at least one or two new players.
