Chelsea Youngster Wants Dortmund Move

The youngster Kevin De Bruyne was purchased by the London club back in January 2011 from Racing Genk and he was immediately loaned back to them for the remainder of the season. After returning to Chelsea he was once again sent for a second loan spell, this time to German outfit Werder Bremen. On both the occasions, his temporary loan deal has been fruitful for him as he has put in impressive performances.

Now that he is back at Chelsea, there have been question marks about his immediate future as to will he stay at Stamford Bridge next season or will he be sent out yet again. Though recently re-appointed, manager Jose Mourinho claims to have de Bruyne in his plans for the upcoming season, it looks very difficult for him to replace the likes of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard, Victor Moses and Oscar in Chelsea’s famed midfield. Therefore even if he ends up staying, it will be very hard for the 21-year old to earn some game time.

It would be a smarter choice for him to possibly go out on loan yet again, or to secure a permanent transfer to a club where he has a much better chance of playing regularly in the first-team. De Bruyne’s calls for playing time have been answered by German giants Borussia Dortmund, who have announced their interest in the young Belgian. The UEFA Champions League runners up have lost their most precious player, Mario Gotze to the team which beat them in the final, and their fierce domestic rivals Bayern Munich. They have since been on the lookout for a suitable young player capable of filling Gotze’s boots.

Their search has led them to de Bruyne, and it is believed that the player himself fancies a move to the German league, which is not new to him since he just spent a year at Werder Bremen. Dortmund’s sporting director Michel Zorc reveals that there is interest from both the parties. Metro reports him saying, “We are interested in the signature of Kevin De Bruyne. We are not at the helm in this respect, of course,”

“I am however able to confirm the player does want to make a transfer to our club.”

Do we see a transfer taking place?
