Chelsea Winger Rewarded For ‘Oscar’ Winning Performances!

The 23-year-old Oscar , nicknamed the baby-faced assassin (like Ole-Gunnar Solskaer used to be) , joined the Blues from internacional in the summer of 2012 for a fee in the region of £20 million. He helped the club to a Europa League triumph in his debut season and has set his sights on more by agreeing to a five-year extension which will see him remain at Stamford Bridge till 2019.

Jose Mourinho has supreme confidence in Oscar’s abilities and views him as a vital member of his first-team. His level of performance in the number 10 role was the prime reason why Juan Mata was sold last January.

Oscar has been in sensational form this season and has scored 4 goals in 15 appearances to help Chelsea make an unbeaten start to the season. His impressive displays for the London club have helped him earn a new five-year contract at the club, according to Daily Mail.

He said, “I am so happy because I love playing for Chelsea and living in England. I have enjoyed playing here for two years, and now I have five more, so I am very happy.”

Long may the player continue to deliver his sublime performances for Chelsea as he becomes a more rounded and defensively responsible player under the mighty Mourinho.
