Chelsea Will Definitely Sign A New Striker This Season

The Blues have been looking for a long term solution as far as their attacking needs go. Torres is still not convincing as the way to go. He might have shown some skill and a lot of determination, but truth be told, it is very hard to believe that Chelsea is the club for him. He has never really adapted even if he has got many chances. If Abramovich plans on retrieving any of the money spent on the Spaniard, he will have to let him transfer if an offer comes up. After failing to land both Rooney and Falcao during the summer, Mourinho decided to bring in Eto’o who was returning after a two year contract with Anzhi. The Cameroonian signed a 1 year deal with the Blues and it is very hard to believe he will extend that agreement considering the hard time he has adapting to the Premier League.

According to the the Daily Mail, Chelsea’s third striker Demba Ba is also on his way out. Besiktas have an interest in the 28 year old forward who has only scored twice since coming to Stamford Bridge. His performances are not consistent which made sitting on the bench a regular activity for the Senegalese international.

Even if Demba Ba will not leave for good during the winter transfer period, it is more than likely that he will leave on loan. His agent recently spoke to the press and expressed his client’s desire to play for a Turkish club. With Mourinho’s behavior indicating that Falcao will finally end up on Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s current third option for a striker will definitely have to consider a transfer at the end of the season.

Demba Ba might even stay in the Premier League. Newcastle, West Ham and Arsenal could be interested in signing the Senegalese striker. Besiktas could be another destination for Chelsea’s striker. The problem with the Turkish side is their 10 foreign player limit. They already have all the spots filled and will have to let someone go if they really want Demba Ba.
