Chelsea are keeping tabs on Basel left-back Blas Riveros, according to 90min.com. The website reports that the Blues have scouted the 21-year-old a number of times in recent months.
The Paraguayan international has been playing in Switzerland for over three years, having moved from Olimpia in his homeland at the beginning of the 2016/17 season.
Riveros has gone on to rack up 72 appearances for Basel, scoring four goals and providing six assists. His growing reputation has also led to him becoming a regular at international level, having started Paraguay’s last two games.
The fullback is not the only player that Chelsea are looking at in their search for another left-back, though. Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell is also believed to be on the club’s radar, but they may face competition from the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City for his signature.
The England star has been a regular starter for the Foxes this season, helping Brendan Rodgers’ side to third in the table, level on points with the Blues after nine games.
