Chelsea Want Drogba Back This Summer

Chelsea Want Drogba Back This Summer

It was Jose Mourinho who brought Drogba to Chelsea from Marseille in 2004 and the striker fully repaid the huge £24 million paid for his services. In his eight-year spell with the club, Drogba was instrumental in helping the Blues win three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups and the Champions League trophy.

The Ivory Coast international scored a massive 157 goals for the club, out of which 100 were in the Premier League, in just 341 appearances. If only the Blues could call upon the services of Drogba this season, with the trio of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o failing to live up to expectations.

If Metro’s report is accurate, the Blues will be able to call on the services of Drogba next season, albeit as a striker’s coach. The report suggests that Chelsea are determined to bring the former marksman back to the Bridge to help develop the striking talent at the club.

Drogba, whose team Galatasaray face Chelsea in the Champions League round of 16 in midweek, is out of contract at the end of the season and is willing to move back to England with his wife and children still living in Surrey.
