Chelsea Vs West Ham – Game Preview & Score Prediction

So Chelsea go into this fixture as certain favourites as they have not lost a game in the most recent 10 League encounters between the two Premier League Big boys at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have won 7 games and drawn 3 games and the last time they lost to the Hammers was a distant memory back in September 2002 where they went down 2-3.

However, West Ham have some good recent results to draw upon having going unbeaten vs the Blues last term as they drew once and won once which they had not accomplished since 2002-03.

The form of Chelsea and indeed new manager Antonio Conti on opening fixtures does not bode well for Slaven Bilic’s men – astonishingly the Blues have won more points than all other PL sides on the opening day of the campaign – amassing an impressive 51 points. Chelsea are undefeated in everyone of their past 13 matches on opening day played at the Bridge (won 10, drawn 3) so it does look ominous for Bilic.

When it comes to new boss Antonio Conte his record is equally impressive as he has lost just one of his last 30 league games as a club manager (W27 D2 L1).

The negatives for Chelsea are that they haven’t won any of their last four Premier League games on a Monday (W0 D2 L2) so this has to give West Ham some hope and confidence.

The big positive for Chelsea is that Diego Costa has banged in five goals in seven Premier League appearances for Chelsea in the month of August so having a flutter on him as a goal scorer looks like it could be a good move.

Anyway it promises to be a classic, high intensity London Derby between two bitter rivals which should kick off Monday Night Football with a bang and we can’t wait to see Antonio Conti as he patrols the technical area kicking and heading every ball with his players.

We predict a 2-1 Chelsea win.
