Chelsea Vs Real Madrid Champions League Second Leg: Match Preview & Injury News

Chelsea will need to put together a massive effort in the second leg of their Champions League tie with Real Madrid, after losing the first leg at the Bernabeu Stadium.

Chelsea will be without Kalidou Koulibaly and Armando Broja for the game against Los Blancos on Tuesday evening due to injury. Additionally, Ben Chilwell will also miss out, after he was sent off in the first leg. Carney Chukwuemeka could be fit to play – he is currently facing a late fitness test, but is expected to pass it.

In their last competitive fixture, Chelsea were beaten at home by Brighton. Chelsea scored first, thanks to Conor Gallagher, but were pegged back to 1-1 before the break by former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck. In the second half, Julio Enciso put Brighton 2-1 up – the Blues could not find a response.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid defeated Cadiz in their last game, despite the scores being level deep into the second half. After an uneventful first period, Madrid struck twice in the second half through Nacho Fernandez and Marco Asensio to win the three points.

In the first leg of the tie, Madrid beat Chelsea by a score of 2-0. Chelsea started brightly, but Madrid drew first blood with a tap-in from Karim Benzema. After Ben Chilwell was dismissed in the second half for a foul on Rodrygo, Real doubled their lead with a goal from Asensio – Chelsea have it all to do in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
