Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Robert Sanchez – after an assured display against Tottenham, the keeper will be hoping to carry on in that vein on Wednesday.
RB – Malo Gusto – the 22-year-old is set to continue on the right-hand side of defence. Reece James started in midfield at the weekend, but he may be rested for the trip to Azerbaijan.
CB – Josh Acheampong – Maresca is being careful with Wesley Fofana’s fitness so Acheampong could deputise if the Frenchman is taken out of the firing line.
CB – Trevoh Chalobah – the centre-back put in a much-improved performance versus Spurs and he is ahead of Tosin Adarabioyo in the pecking order.
LB – Marc Cucurella – Jorrel Hato could be selected but Maresca will be reluctant to make too many changes to the back four.
