Chelsea vs Cardiff: Injury news and predicted starting XI

Everything you need to know about tomorrow’s clash with Cardiff City

Chelsea welcome Cardiff City to Stamford Bridge tomorrow as Maurizio Sarri look’s to maintain his perfect start to life as manager.

The Blues have won all four of their Premier League fixtures so far – a feat matched only by Liverpool and surprise package Watford, who join them at the top of the table.

Cardiff have had a difficult welcome back to the top flight having managed just two points and two goals from their opening four fixtures, however will be hoping to build upon a positive performance against Arsenal last time out.

Sarri is not expected to make any changes to his midfield three of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic, with the trio having all put in fine performances against Newcastle and Bournemouth.

The Italian however has been given a selection headache up top, with Pedro doing his best to work his way back into the starting line-up having come off the bench against Bournemouth two weeks ago to change the game. Willian is the most likely to make way for the Spaniard.

Striker Olivier Giroud may also be in contention for his first start of the season following and impressive international break and Alvaro Morata still struggling to find the net.

At the back, Sarri is unlikely to change the back four of Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso. Ethan Ampadu will remain on the bench despite his impressive performance for Wales against the Republic of Ireland.

Injuries

Cesc Fabregas remains Chelsea’s only major injury worry, with the veteran midfielder still sidelined with a knee injury. Fringe players Marco Van Ginkel and Izzy Brown are also ruled out with ACL set-backs.

Suspensions

Chelsea have no suspensions going into the weekend’s action.
