Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel secured his fourth consecutive win in all competitions against Barnsley in the FA Cup on Thursday night and, while it wasn’t the most convincing display, he’ll be pleased to keep up the momentum since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues’ next opponents, Newcastle, got back to winning ways with an impressive 3-2 victory over Southampton last weekend so the Magpies won’t make it easy for Tuchel’s side on Monday evening.

In terms of team news, Chelsea are expected to have Andreas Christensen (illness) and Timo Werner (dead leg) back in contention. Kai Havertz (knock) remains a doubt while Thiago Silva (thigh) is unavailable.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce should have Ciaran Clark and captain Jamaal Lascelles (hamstring) available, but Federico Fernandez (hamstring) is unlikely to feature. Fabian Schar (knee), Javier Manquillo (ankle) and Callum Wilson (hamstring) have all been ruled out, while Jeff Hendrick is suspended.

The bookies have Chelsea as the heavy favourites with Betfair currently pricing them at 1/4 for the win. A draw is 23/4 with Unibet while a Newcastle victory is 14/1 at BetVictor.
