Chelsea V Manchester City – Carabao Cup Final Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Manager Maurizio Sarri’s future will likely be determined by the result in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Italian is under huge pressure after recent results, with the win against Malmo last night unlikely to persuade many to change their opinions.

Sarri may have to do without first-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for the game at Wembley. The Spaniard missed last night’s match due to a hamstring problem and is a major doubt for the weekend.

It means Willy Caballero will likely keep his place in goal when the Blues face City. Other absentees from yesterday’s win, Pedro and Davide Zappacosta, could both be fit if they recover from illness in time.

Danny Drinkwater (tendon), Gary Cahill (back) and Marco van Ginkel (knee) remain out of contention for Sunday’s match.

Manchester City’s injury list has shortened somewhat. Vincent Kompany, Benjamin Mendy and Eliaquim Mangala all returned to training at the start of the week.

However, John Stones (adductor strain) and Gabriel Jesus (hamstring) are both doubts for the weekend, while Claudio Bravo is still out with an Achilles injury.

The bookies make City clear favourites to pick up the trophy. They are 3/5 at Unibet to win with a draw after 90 minutes at 39/11 with the same bookmaker. Chelsea are 19/4 at Ladbrokes to get the victory.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face City:

Caballero, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, David Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Willian, Higuain, Hazard

City’s Predicted XI:

Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, Sterling, Aguero, Sane

Predicted score – 3-1 to City
