Chelsea Travel To Paris For The 3rd Year In A Row

The Blues have a chance to redeem themselves after they were eliminated last year by PSG. Even though both encounters ended in a draw, the French side went through due to the away goal rule. The first game will take place in Paris and it is scheduled on the 16th of February. It’s going to be a rough time for Chelsea who have the month of January packed with difficult games. They’ll have to handle Everton, Arsenal, Manchester and Newcastle right before their first Champions League game of 2016. The good news, sort of, is the fact that the Premier League is a lost cause. Getting higher than 4th place seems impossible right now despite Mourinho’s commitment to finishing in the top 4.

With that in mind, the Blues have all the time in the world to prepare for the two encounters with PSG who just destroyed Lyon in Ligue 1. Blanc’s side is now an impressive 17 points ahead of the team standing in 2nd place. They have not lost any games and have scored 45 goals while conceding only 9. On the other side Chelsea are struggling in the 16th place in the Premier League, winning just 4 games and scoring 17 goals. This can definitely work in Mourinho’s advantage as PSG will probably let their guard down for at least the first game. If all is well in the locker room and if Chelsea focus on the Champions League this year, they have enough time to set themselves up for a win in both games. A good transfer or two can also do the world of difference and bring the Blues some extra help which is almost mandatory against high-flying PSG.
