Insider Confidently Predicts £65M Rated Target “Will Become A Chelsea Player” As Blues Close In On Next Transfer

RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons “will become a Chelsea player,” according to TheSecretScout.

The insider usually receives accurate information on youth team transfers, but responding to someone on X, he said:

At the time of writing, Chelsea are still trying to agree personal terms with Simons, but the Dutchman is said to be keen on a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Simons’ asking price is expected to drop

The 22-year-old only made his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Leipzig permanent back in January, and it cost the Bundesliga side an initial €50m (£43m), with another €31m due in performance-related add-ons.

However, Simons has less than two years left on his contract, and it was always felt that his stay in Germany would be brief.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the forward’s current £65m asking price is likely to be reduced.

Chelsea are stealing a march on their rivals

The likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich have also been linked with an approach for Simons, but neither have opted to step up their interest.

Bayern are currently focused on signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool, while the Gunners are still wrapping up deals for the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera.

Even if they were in a position to make a bid, there is a feeling that manager Mikel Arteta would prefer to buy Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

It means that Enzo Maresca’s side could have a clear run to snap up Simons. As long as the funds can be found to finance a bid for the player, it looks like he will make the move to London.

In other news, we consider the chances of a £130m swap between Chelsea and Real Madrid which would deal a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool
