REPORT: Chelsea Officials Have Had ‘Face To Face Meeting’ With Serie A Giants Over Potential £69M Transfer

Representatives from Chelsea had a “face to face meeting” with Juventus to discuss Dusan Vlahovic at the weekend, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper claims that the Blues have been the most proactive in negotiations to sign the Serbian international, who is expected to be made available for transfer this summer.

Vlahovic has only spent eighteen months at Juve but he has struggled for form this campaign, having scored just ten league goals for the Bianconeri.

The Serie A club are believed to be willing to sell the striker as long as a team meets their €80m (£69m) valuation.

Do Chelsea have rivals for Vlahovic’s signature?

Gazzetta report that both Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich have registered their interest in the 23-year-old but neither is unlikely to make a formal bid at this stage.

Atletico did propose a potential swap deal with Alvaro Morata, but Juventus are adamant that they want straight cash for Vlahovic so a move to Spain looks to be off the table.

Bayern are also on the lookout for a new number nine. However, the Bundesliga champions are considering other options, including Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

Chelsea are targeting other strikers

Vlahovic is not said to be the Blues’ only option to strengthen the forward line. Manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a big fan of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez so an offer for the Argentinian international cannot be ruled out.

Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund is on the club’s radar, while the club’s recruitment team are admirers of Osimhen. Reports in France have also suggested Montpellier’s Elye Wahi as a potential target.

At the moment, though, the most likely does appear to be Vlahovic, considering Jueventus’s willingness to sell, so we shall see how this transfer story develops.
