Over the summer transfer window, there was controversy at Stamford Bridge due to the sheer number of signings Chelsea made.
The Blues signed 11 new names, but they already had a large squad and refused to sell too many of their current crop. Enzo Maresca decided to trim the squad down by forcing 14 players to train away from the first team.
