Chelsea Face Competition From Spurs To Sign 19-Goal Striker

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur is preparing to make a move for striker Dominic Solanke who is reportedly also a target for Chelsea.

The Bournemouth man is hot property this summer as Chelsea has already registered their interest alongside West Ham United. However, the Blues now face competition from London rivals Spurs.

Ange Postecoglu is reportedly keen on landing the 26-year-old in an attempt to fill the void that was left at Spurs by Harry Kane.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been in the market for a striker since the start of the transfer window and Solanke is one of the names that Enzo Maresca is reportedly keen on. Solanke was sold to rivals Liverpool by Chelsea but could not break through under Jurgen Klopp however when he was sold to the Cherries Liverpool inserted a 20% sell-on clause.

Solanke has a £65m release clause which Bournemouth has set as his price tag. Cherries’ boss Andoni Iraola has admitted that Solanke could be on the move this summer, but it is unclear yet as to his preferred destination.

The English striker made 38 appearances for Bournemouth last season scoring 19 goals in his best Premier League season so far.

Chelsea want to add a striker

It is no secret that the Blues are keen on signing a striker this summer as they have been linked with several high-profile names at the position.

Ollie Watkins, Alexander Isak, Julian Alvarez, and Victor Osimhen have all been linked with Chelsea this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to land his goalscorer.

Dominic Solanke has been added to this list and could be a fantastic young signing should the Blues beat Spurs and West Ham to his signature.

How much would Dominic Solanke cost?

Solanke has a £65m release clause in his contract that any team could swoop in and pay instantly. However, according to Journalist Simon Phillips, the Blues are considering negotiations with Bournemouth to see if they could sign him for less.

The attacker’s valuation sits around the £35 million mark so if Chelsea were successful in negotiations, they could get a solid discount on Solanke.
