‘Chelsea Is Cooking’ ‘We Might Actually Be Back!’ Fans Excited As Romano Makes Claim About 5 Summer Signings

Chelsea will be “busy” in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Writing in his Daily Briefing column, Romano said that the Blues are planning to recruit up to five players over the next few months:

“It will be a busy summer for Chelsea, with around five signings, maybe less, maybe more, but for sure they are looking at goalkeepers, maybe or one or two centre-backs, and they’re also looking at central strikers and wingers. Chelsea will be busy, and [Enzo] Maresca will be involved.”

Understandably, most fans on X are excited by the prospect of the Blues improving the squad ahead of the new season:

Who will Chelsea buy this summer?

In terms of the positions that Romano mentions, the club have already been linked with a few names. Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen could be the goalkeeper that is targeted, with reports in the Spanish media claiming the club have already sounded out the Dane. Burnley’s James Trafford is also being considered.

Looking at centre-backs, the club are believed to have offered Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo a contract, while Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo and Lille’s Leny Yoro are other options.

Benjamin Sesko appears to be the favourite as Chelsea seek out a new no.9. The Slovenian international has a €65m (£55m) release clause in his contract. Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Leeds’ Crysencio Summerville could be recruited to strengthen the squad in wide areas.
