Chelsea are unlikely to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Reports in the French media had suggested that the Blues could make an approach for the World Cup finalist over the coming days but, posting on X, Jacobs said:
Understand Randal Kolo Muani is not in Chelsea’s plans.
Natural respect for the player, but no approach expected in January.
Chelsea have several names on their list of possible striker options for 2025, but nothing imminent, and big confidence in Nicolas Jackson.🔵 pic.twitter.com/9tj7dlfYaL

As Jacobs mentions, the Blues are not expected to sign a striker in January, although the club may look to reinforce that position next summer if the right opportunity presents itself.
Muani could still make the move to the Premier League
The 26-year-old has been frozen out by PSG boss Luis Enrique, having not featured in a matchday squad since the beginning of December despite not being injured.
It has been claimed that Muani will be allowed to leave on loan next month, although it is still not clear whether PSG would expect a purchase clause to be included.
Other Premier League teams have been credited with an interest in the France international over the past couple of weeks, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle.
Who could Chelsea target instead?
Several journalists have linked Ipswich’s Liam Delap with a switch to Stamford Bridge but it must be pointed out that his previous club Manchester City have a buyback option on the striker.
Alternatives include the likes of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. Both of those players are likely to cost roughly the same amount – €75m (£62m), with the latter having a release clause in his contract.
