Chelsea Have ‘Spoken To’ Camp Of £76M Rated Forward ‘In The Last Week’ But So Have PL Rivals

Chelsea are one of several Premier League teams who have “spoken to” the representatives of Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to reports.

The France international is expected to leave PSG this month and TBR Football report that the Blues have held talks with his camp “in the last week”.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have also been in contact with Muani, who is said to be keen on making the move to England.

Teams in Italy and Turkey have registered their interest as well but it appears that he could join a Premier League club before the transfer window closes at the end of January.

How much would Muani cost?

PSG paid Eintracht Frankfurt £76m (including add-ons) for the striker in 2023 but they have already accepted that they may only be able to loan him out this month.

However, the Ligue One champions will reportedly request that an option to buy is included in any deal, but the exact purchase price has yet to be determined.

Are Chelsea in the market for a forward?

Heading into January, it wasn’t thought that a new No.9 was at the top of the club’s list of priorities, with a centre-back said to be higher up the agenda.

There have been rumours linking Blues with the likes of Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko but many believe that bids for those players would only be considered at the end of the season.

In terms of Muani, reports of an imminent approach for the Frenchman have already been played down but Enzo Maresca‘s side may simply be keeping their options open by speaking to the player.

Christopher Nkunku’s future is uncertain and, if he does leave Stamford Bridge, there would be space for someone like Muani to be brought in.
