Chelsea have made enquiries about Lazio left-back Nuno Tavares, according to reports in Italy.
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims that the Blues have “asked for information” about the Portuguese defender ahead of a potential bid next summer. Tavares seriously struggled during his time at Arsenal and Chelsea supporters on X would be dead against him moving back to London:

Tavares is still technically on loan
A transfer would not be possible in January due to the terms of his move to Lazio. He was loaned from Arsenal until the end of the season but he will join them on a permanent basis in July for £4.2m.
If Lazio are open to selling him in the summer, it is very likely that they will be looking for a substantial profit.
Chelsea may soon need another left-back
Head coach Enzo Maresca actually has three left-backs in his squad at the moment but two of them could leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the month.
Ben Chilwell is not part of the club’s plans and his transfer will be sanctioned as soon as an agreement is reached with another team. Renato Veiga could also depart despite only joining the Blues last summer.
Borussia Dortmund are trying to secure the Portuguese international’s signature on loan while Juventus are keen on the defender as well.
