The agent of Chelsea forward Nico Jackson claims the player has no intention of returning to the club, even if his loan move to Bayern Munich doesn’t become permanent.
Diomansy Kamara was asked directly whether his client could play for the Blues again, and he replied:
“Absolutely not. Today at Chelsea, the relationship with [Enzo] Maresca isn’t necessarily the best. We’re never going to bite the hand that feeds us because Chelsea allowed him to find the European level. He was there for two years and scored 30 goals, so he always had a good relationship.”
“After, it’s true that the red cards complicated it at Chelsea. Today, we’re looking towards Bayern having a good season. We will see what is best for him. But it’s true that Bayern is a priority for him for a long time.”
Jackson may not stay at Bayern
Even though the Bundesliga champions have paid a €16.5m (£14.3m) loan fee for the Senegalese international, there is a condition in the obligation to buy which may not be triggered.
Bayern will only keep Jackson on a permanent basis and pay another €65m (£56.4m) if he plays in 40 matches this season. Honorary president Uli Hoeness has already stated that will not happen.
Maresca has responded to Kamara’s claims
Chelsea will take on Bayern in their first Champions League fixture on Wednesday night. As there are no rules in Europe preventing loanees from facing their parent clubs, Jackson could play against the Blues. Asked about his relationship with the striker in his pre-match press conference, head coach Enzo Maresca said:
“I said the other day, I’m grateful, thankful to Nico. If we achieved what we achieved last year, it’s because all the players, including Nicolas, that was with us. I text[ed] him after he left the club, telling him thanks for last season, wishing him all the best. Nico is a good guy. With us, he] was good, working well.”
Based on Kamara’s remarks, though, the relationship between Jackson and Maresca is strained, so don’t expect to see the 24-year-old in a Chelsea jersey again.
