Chelsea are weighing up a move for Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, according to reports.
The Independent claim that the Blues will look to take advantage of the Villans’ need to sell players due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. However, Chelsea fans on X are split on whether the club should buy Rodgers. Some believe he would be a good addition to the squad, while others question whether he is needed due to the presence of Cole Palmer:
An actual good attacking signing I could get behind, forget gittens this is an actual game changer

Deal for the right price
We need some extra ball carriers in midfield.
Someone who can actually compete with both Enzo and Palmer. Much much physical…

Do quite like him. He isn't a priority however.

Chelsea making another signing no one asked for… just what they need, another player who’s not going to make an impact.

Rogers has had an excellent campaign
The 22-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists in 50 appearances this season, which is an excellent return for a player who is still very young.
As a former Man City academy graduate, Chelsea’s interest is not that surprising either, considering the presence of Joe Shields. The co-director of recruitment and talent has backed moves for the likes of Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia who he worked with at the Manchester club as well.
It should be pointed out that head coach Enzo Maresca has also managed Rogers before, albeit for a brief period of time.
Chelsea are looking to replace Nkunku
Multiple reports have now confirmed that the Frenchman is likely to be sold at the end of the season, with the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich said to be interested.
Nkunku’s departure would leave a gap in the squad and it appears some in Chelsea’s recruitment department want Rogers to fill it.
