Chelsea have offered AC Milan €20m (£17m) for goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to reports in Italy.
It was originally claimed that the Blues were only willing to pay €10m (£8.4m) for the France international, who has 12 months left on his contract. However, Calciomercato.com now believe they have doubled their original proposal. Fans on X are now optimistic that an agreement between the two clubs can be reached:

Better than the nonsense of offering 10 yesterday.

Don’t think he signs a new deal so will they risk losing 20m 🤷♂️

Milan still want their full asking price
The Rossoneri have been holding out for €30m (£25m) despite the fact that Maignan’s contract is running down.
There is a feeling that Chelsea may wait and see whether Milan cave in and accept the current proposal which is on the table, knowing full well that the 29-year-old could leave on a free transfer next year.
Chelsea want a new keeper soon
With the Club World Cup taking place later this month, Enzo Maresca’s side would ideally like to have Maignan in goal for the tournament but a lot still depends on how negotiations progress.
At the time of writing, Milan have not accepted the Blues’ most recent bid, but the gap in the two teams’ aluation of the player is now much smaller than it once was. It is a situation to keep a close eye on.
