Chelsea have “made contact” with the representatives of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, according to Foot Mercato.
The French website claims that “initial discussions” are underway, with the Blues seeing the two players as their top priority for the summer transfer window.
Both Olise and Sesko have release clauses in their contracts, with the former expected to fetch £60m and the latter reportedly available for around £55m.
It means Enzo Maresca’s side will be shelling out £115m on the pair if they do secure their signatures over the coming days and weeks.
Sesko’s future is likely to be resolved first
Last month, the RB Leipzig forward’s agent Elvis Basanovic confirmed that the player wants to decide on his next club before the start of the European Championships in nine days’ time.
With Sesko’s buyout clause expiring at the end of the month anyway, it does seem like the Slovenian’s future will be sorted in pretty short order.
Of course, Chelsea are by no means the only club pursuing the 21-year-old, with Arsenal and Manchester United also said to be weighing up their own bids.
Chelsea may have some persuading to do if they want Olise
It is believed that the Crystal Palace star is hoping to move to a club playing in the Champions League. While the Blues will have European football next season (having qualified for the UEFA Conference League), it may not be enough to lure the Frenchman away.
Considering that both Arsenal and United are also after Olise, it means Chelsea will have to go on a charm offensive. With Foot Mercato reporting that talks are already underway, it seems the club are being very proactive in their attempts to win the race for his services.
