Chelsea have “concrete interest” in Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The journalist claims that the Blues are not in pole position to sign the 21-year-old but they have been alerted to the fact that he has a €30m (£25.4m) release clause in his contract. Fans on X are mostly behind a move for Beier, with many feeling that the German international would add depth up front:
Okay ..that’s good

No we’re talking, this guy is a potentially dangerous striker.
He’s a great finisher and fast.

Top 5 goal scorer in the Budensliga last season at the age of 21. 16 in 33 games, a goal every other game. He doesn’t waste chances and he did this on a team that only created 82 big chances last season, compared to Chelsea creating 122. Good height, rapid, solid player for sure.

Then lets go for this super star rather.

I like this guy, he’s very fast, he’s aggressive, versatile, scored 16 goals this season. I think at this point we have to appreciate BlueCo. The scouting network, they are very intentional in the market. Success is imminent on the pitch.

What do fans need to know about the player?
Beier came through Hoffenheim’s academy before making his debut against Freiburg in February 2020. However, he then spent two years away on loan at Hannover 96, racking up 68 appearances, before returning to this parent club last summer.
Last season was very much a breakthrough year for the forward, as he scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga. He was rewarded with a call-up for Germany, making his debut against Ukraine in a friendly earlier this month. He is part of Julian Nagelsmann’s squad at the European Championships.
Multiple strikers are being targeted by Chelsea
Beier is by no means the only No. 9 the Blues have considered signing. They have held talks with Aston Villa about recruiting Jhon Duran, but they have yet to find an agreement on a transfer fee.
Bids have also been lodged for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, but Fabrizio Romano has revealed the Spaniard’s price tag is very high.
