Chelsea In ‘Bidding War’ With Arsenal And Tottenham For £60M-Rated Striker

Chelsea are reportedly in competition to sign Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel, who they are said to be keen on.

The Blues would like to add attacking reinforcements before the end of the transfer window, as they look to push for a Champions League place this season.

Enzo Maresca’s side lost 3-1 to Manchester City last time out, despite taking a 1-0 lead via Noni Madueke, just three minutes into the game at the Etihad.

It leaves them sixth in the Premier League table, one point off the top four. They face a game against London rivals West Ham, and former manager Graham Potter on Monday night.

Chelsea have been linked with signing Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel, who looks set to leave the Allianz Arena before transfer deadline day, due to his lack of game time.

Tel, 19, has had to deal with competition for places with Harry Kane, who is Vincent Kompany’s first choice striker for obvious reasons. However, new reports have suggested that the Blues now face serious competition to sign Tel from rivals Tottenham and Arsenal.

The Evening Standard are reporting that the three clubs are in a ‘bidding war’ trying to sign Tel this month. He also appeared to say goodbye to the Bayern Munich fans after their 3-1 Champions League win against Slovan Bratislava.

It could mean that a transfer for the 19-year-old Frenchman is completed before their next game, which comes on Saturday in the Bundesliga.

Tel could replace possible outgoing striker

Mathys Tel may provide Enzo Maresca with a replacement for Christopher Nkunku, who has been subject to reports linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Nkunku has struggled to get regular starts in the Premier League under Maresca, who prefers Nicolas Jackson to be his number one striker choice.

He has been linked to Bayern Munich, and Manchester United in recent weeks, with a move to the Red Devils possible if Ruben Amorim was to sell a player due to PSR rules.
