Chelsea fans have been reacting to the news that the Blues have been linked to signing Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen on loan.
The Blues have had issues at the goalkeeper spot for some time now, with calls for the club to move on from Robert Sanchez, who has struggled with mistakes and inconsistency for the past two years.
Chelsea were linked with signing Mike Maignan from AC Milan in the summer transfer window, but they opted against signing him. However, the Blues have now been linked to adding Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen on loan in January for the rest of the season.
According to TeamTalk, Chelsea are interested in the 33-year-old German keeper on a loan deal in January, and have managed to usurp Tottenham, who have also been linked. However, many fans are worried about it due to Ter Stegen’s lack of recent game time and his wage bill of over £280,000 per week.
They took to X to express their displeasure on the reports…
No deal!!! The Keeper is not our problem at this point, the defence is

No deal
I matter of fact prefer Sanchez— Stephen ᜰ (@Cfcstephenn) October 27, 2025
Absolutely no. He’s good but it destabilizes our squad. Chelsea need to focus on giving Penders his chances. Cech was given a chance while he was young and it proved to be a wise decision

He’s been terrible recently.

Could Chelsea sign Maignan in the January transfer window?
The most recent reports about Maignan to Chelsea have all said the same thing, they have all said that the Blues are likely to wait until the summer when his contract at AC Milan expires and he becomes a free agent.
However, Juventus are reportedly interested too, which could mean that Maignan could snub a move to Stamford Bridge to join the Old Lady instead. It could be a wise move for Chelsea to try and get Maignan in January, offering a small fee to Milan so they avoid him leaving for free.
The French international has made 10 appearances for Milan so far this season, conceding seven goals, and keeping five clean sheets.
